Dear colleagues,
We produce bare Copper wire for power cable, can welding, wire hardness, etc.
And some customer very strict about wire surface quality for example no oxidation (discoloration).
I heard from some source that coating (waxing??) on Cu wire surface can reduce oxidation possibility.
Ladies and gentlemen, may be you have information about this coating system, please do not mind to share.
I heard there is two different way to apply this kind of coating/waxing:
1. apply on cooling system at annealler
2. apply at area between annealler and coiler
Please share your thought, experiences and advises.
best regards,
Ganda Sirait (Mr.)

Hi,
u can coat the copper wire rod by wax to preventive oxidation. normally waxing coating are done after quenching unit. first u need to dray the road by air and u than apply wax layer.

You can get wax oil solution from the good suppliers (dont know whether we can tell the supplier name or not). This will come after quenching /cooling line
Maintain 3.5 % of Wax solution with water .Maintain both solution and rod temperature at around 60 to 65 Deg C for proper sticking of wax coating on the rod surface. This will help for proper winding and also for good protective layer to avoid oxidation.
