I want to know what the minimum percentage concentration of CO2 to which carbon
steel wire can be subjected without being attacked by the gas (or at least minimizing the attack)? This wire is used at great depths in a gas well with a CO2 range of 2% to 11%.

It is hard to say what could be the minimum concentration since another variable is the time of exposure. In general for logging cables in a CO2 environment it is recommended to use a special alloy of stainless steel wire, common for this application The stainless manufacturers will make the right recommendation for the application.
