Air Patenting was created by Archived Forum Admin
Dear All,
We have an air patenting furnace 13 meters long with 3 burners to control the temperature and air fans from 2 sides, but sometimes patenting wire is cracked.
What is the suitable air pressure to get fine pearlite?
Thank you for your kind attentions,

To obtain fine perlite ( on high carbon wires), the wire should heat uniformily up to fully transformation temperature where it is fully austenized (+,-) 800 oC then sudenlly in few seconds the material should decrease temperature ( +,-)500oc. . The conditions for different carbon contents can be obtain in the TTT curves ( Temperatur, Time ,Transformatio). WAI has several presentations on the subject can be seen on his web page
