Filler Wire

Filler metal in the form of a coil of wire that is used to fill the joint in welding processes such as oxy-acetylene and tungsten inert gas arc welding. This term generally refers to filler wire fed in­dependently of the heat source, as distinct from processes where some or all of the metal to fill the joint is obtained by the melting of the electrode itself.
