Compounder For XLPE was created by Archived Forum Admin
We would like to set up an XLPE (silane crosslinking)compounding line for manufacturing our own AEX and AEXF (cross-linked polyethylene heat resistant low-tension cable) COMPOUND (via silane
crosslinking process). Would be grateful if you could suggest companies to sell such line with the whole setup (dosaging, extrusion mixing, pelletising, crosslinking).

Hi there,
Because you added "crosslinking" at the end of your query, we thought we needed to understand your request a little better. Could you please confirm the processing equipment you are actually looking for as follows:
(a) Pre-Grafted Polyethylene Compound Equipment
This is the process where a base compound is manufactured in a continuous mixing extruder and where vinyl silane is grafted to a polyethylene matrix, mixed with a peroxide initiator, an antioxidant and then pellitised.
(b) Catalyst Masterbatch Equipment
In a second and separate mixing operation, the catalyst masterbatch is produced. This consists of polyethylene compounded with an organo tin catalyst such as di-butyl tin laureate and then pellitised.
(a) and (b) are then gravimetrically mixed along with a color masterbatch on a fairly standard thermoplastic extrusion line where low voltage power cable is manufactured and described as Extrusion Line (d).
(c) Dry-Silane Processing Equipment
This is where all is done at once on one production extrusion line where low voltage power cable is manufactured. To learn more about this process, go to the Rosendahl Maschinen GmbH. (Austria) web site at www.rosendahlaustria.com/ and click on "Products". Then click on " Power Cable | Article". You need Adobe Acrobat Reader to read and download this article.
(d) A New Standard Moisture Cure Extrusion Line
This is a fairly standard extrusion line using the (a) and (b) type materials above along with a color masterbatch. All are mixed in an on-line gravimetric mixer directly above the extruder hopper. The extrusion line will be used for low voltage power cable and may be equipped with gradient (hot water) cooling.
Anyway, here are the four companies I suggest you review:
(1) Maillefer SA (Switzerland)
corporate.maillefer.net
Go to "Products & Services | Products" and then look under Energy Cable "Low Voltage Cable Line"
(2) TROESTER GmbH & Co. KG (Germany)
www.troester.de/index_gb.htm
Go to "Products | Cable Division | Cable Lines" and click on the catalog. You need Adobe Acrobat Reader to read and download this information.
(3) Davis-Standard, LLC (United States)
www.davis-standard.com/
There are two sections to review here "Compounding" and "Wire & Cable"
(4)Rosendahl Maschinen GmbH. (Austria)
www.rosendahlaustria.com/
Go to "Products | Power Cable | Wide range of insulation line for conductor and material"
